Product Details

The Normal sponge belongs to JOYDIVISION’s Original Soft-Tampons range. It is a menstrual sponge rather than a cup: the foam absorbs period flow, and each sponge is used once before disposal. The word Normal identifies this model in the range.

Its shaped body has a narrower end and curved sides that fold together in your fingers. An integrated grip tab provides a point to hold for removal, keeping the string-free design practical as well as discreet. A relaxed first try gives you time to learn both steps.

Individual wrapping makes it easy to put a spare in a bag or keep your supply organised at home. The 3 Pack, 10 Pack and 50 Pack all contain the same Normal sponge design, so the choice is about the quantity that suits your routine.

JOYDIVISION designed the range for swimming, sport, sauna visits and intimacy during menstruation. That gives you another period-care option for the activities you enjoy, with regular changes and a comfortable fit at the heart of using it well.

Best For

Those days when you want string-free internal period care beneath swimwear or an outfit you love. The soft shape offers a different feel from a conventional tampon, and the pack choices make it easy to start small or keep your bathroom drawer supplied.

It is also designed for intimacy during your period, when that is what you and your partner feel like. Take your time, keep your usual sexual protection in mind and let comfort lead the way.

Getting Comfortable

Wash your hands before insertion and removal, and read the enclosed leaflet. A little water-based lubricant can help with insertion. Alternatively, dampen the sponge with clean water and squeeze it out well. Gently compress the sponge and insert it with your finger in a comfortable position.

Use the integrated tab to remove it with your finger; a relaxed squat can make reaching it easier. Change after swimming or intercourse without a condom. Put each used sponge in the rubbish, and keep unused ones wrapped in a dry place away from direct light.

These are menstrual products, not contraception or protection against sexually transmitted infections. Keep your usual protection in place; you can explore condoms and dental dams separately.

Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a rare but serious risk with tampon use. Remove the sponge and seek urgent medical help if sudden fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness or a rash develops. Seek medical assistance promptly if you cannot remove a sponge. If you have had TSS or recently had an IUD fitted, speak with your clinician before use.

Tip: Choose a quiet moment for your first try, with the leaflet nearby. Getting comfortable with insertion and removal before a busy day makes the practical bits feel more familiar.
